Enrique Iglesias recently spoke with EFE about how he still stays successful throughout the years!

Santo Domingo (EFE).- El cantante español Enrique Iglesias, quien actúa hoy en la capital dominicana, afirmó a Efe que la clave del éxito “es un cúmulo de factores que hacen un todo” y que el secreto está “en atreverse a hacer cosas nuevas” y en “nunca quedarse estancado.”
Iglesias participará hoy en el Festival Presidente, en cuya primera jornada también actuarán el colombiano Maluma, los puertorriqueños Marc Anthony, Ozuna, Bad Bunny y Bryant Myers, y los dominicanos El Alfa, El Mayor, El Lápiz y Gabriel.
Preguntado sobre el éxito cosechado en estas más de dos décadas de carrera, el hijo de Julio Iglesias e Isabel Preysler señaló que “no sabría definir cuál es la clave exacta“, ya que considera que “más bien, es un cúmulo de factores que hacen un todo.”
“Primero está tu pasión por lo que haces, tu entrega que debe ser incondicional. Después están los sacrificios que debes asumir con la responsabilidad que conlleva eso que conocen como fama“, dijo Enrique Iglesias en respuesta a un cuestionario escrito.
El secreto, subrayó, “está en atreverse a hacer cosas nuevas, a nunca quedarte estancado y tratar de estar un paso adelante siempre siendo tú, tu propia competencia.”
El intérprete del éxito mundial Bailando señaló que ama y disfruta lo que hace, por lo que la música “más que un trabajo es algo que me nace y esa autenticidad es importante contagiarla a tu equipo y a los fans que son nuestro más importante termómetro del éxito.”
Iglesias lleva ya más de 20 años en la música y podría decirse que ha sido “fácil“, pero, afirmó, “hay subidas y bajadas y hay que mantener siempre ese estado de agradecimiento y los pies bien puestos en el piso.”
Al resumir lo vivido en estos años, reconoció que ya no es “el mismo chaval que empezó cantando baladas.”
“Te toca hacer un matrix contigo mismo para renovarte, aprender algo nuevo cada día, colaborar con colegas talentosos que te dejen algo como artista y como ser humano“, agregó.
Cuestionado sobre el estado actual de su vida profesional, Enrique Iglesias dijo que la música es una carrera “en la que nunca dejas de aprobar materias o terminas de graduarte.”
“Es hacer música constantemente, crear, subirte a cantar por el mundo entero (…) dormir, tomarte unos días para disfrutar el plano personal. Mi chica, mis perros y el mar (…) y embarcarte de nuevo sin rumbo mes a mes“, añadió.
El último disco del cantante fue “Sex and Love“, que incluyó Bailando, en el que comparte con los cubanos Descemer Bueno y el dúo Gente de Zona.
Para el cantante, esta producción, que vio luz casi 20 años después de su primer disco titulado “Enrique Iglesias“, ha sido “un parte aguas en mi vida. Una apuesta ambiciosa” de sacar un álbum mitad en español y mitad en inglés. “Un capricho cumplido que al final funcionó“, resumió.
La semana pasada Enrique Iglesias fue reconocido como artista del año en la III edición de los premios Latin American Music Awards, celebrados en Los Ángeles, pero para él los premios “no son otra cosa que el aplauso del público que se sigue en cada recital, en cada rincón del mundo comprimido en una estatuilla.”
“Si para ellos soy el artista del año es porque tengo a los mejores fans del mundo y a ellos mi respeto por ser mi motor. Mi lealtad por siempre en cada canción que les dedico“, apostilló.
Sobre el momento actual que vive la música Latina subrayó que desde su padre, Julio Iglesias, hasta otros famosos como Gloria Estefan, Santana o Celia Cruz “son decenas de estrellas los que nos han abierto el camino a todos.”
“Hoy en día las fusiones de ritmos y géneros han hecho que los latinos seamos una fuerza más poderosa“, apuntó.
Enrique Iglesias destacó sus duetos con iconos como Juan Luis Guerra o Marco Antonio Solís, que definió como “clásicos” para sus fans, así como sus colaboraciones con Romeo, Pitbull, Nicky Jam, Wisin y Yandel, y Gente de Zona.
“Estamos todos en nuestro mejor momento“, concluyó el cantante español.
