Enrique Iglesias tiene claras sus dos pasiones: su familia y su música.

El cantante español —quien llevará su gira Sex & Love por Europa en diciembre— habló con People en Español sobre las prioridades en su vida a sus 40 años.

“He aprendido mucho, espero que no haya madurado porque quiero seguir siendo el mismo chaval inmaduro que era cuando tenía 18″, dijo el artista sobre sus más de dos décadas de carrera. “Eso es lo que me hace feliz”.

También lo hace feliz su pareja, la extenista rusa Anna Kournikova, y pasar tiempo en familia. “Todos los hermanos nos llevamos estupendamente bien y nos queremos y respetamos”, aseguró. “Tenemos muy buena relación”.

Pese a su cargada agenda, el cantante intenta pasar fechas especiales con su madre, Isabel Preysler, con quien dice tener una estrecha comunicación.

Sus fanáticos son una familia extendida. “Lo que más agradezco es el cariño de mi público. Si no fuera por mis fans, no existiría. No tendría la carrera que tengo”, reconoció. “Es mi público al que le debo absolutamente todo”.

El cantante adelantó que está ahora inmerso en terminar su nueva producción. “Voy a estar viajando porque quiero lanzar una canción nueva dentro de un mes y viajaré un poco con esa canción, haré un par de conciertos. Voy a estar en el estudio y en casa en Miami escribiendo canciones. Quiero tomarme un tiempo de tranquilidad para poder enfocarme en el próximo disco”, contó.

Para el intérprete de éxitos como ‘Duele el corazón’, las canciones son actos de magia.

“Escribir una canción es algo que es muy difícil, no hay una forma realmente. No es algo que puedas controlar. Es algo que sucede o no”, admitió. “Estoy orgulloso de todas las canciones. Cada canción marca una etapa de mi vida y una etapa de mi carrera. Aunque no sean historias verdaderas y sean cosas que te imaginas, aún así marcan una etapa, recuerdas perfectamente porqué la escribiste y donde estabas. La sensación de escribir o grabar una canción que me llena y motiva es maravillosa”.

Enrique Iglesias has two clear passions: his family and his music.

The Spanish singer, who will continue his Sex & Love tour in Europe in December, spoke to People en Español about his priorities in life at 41 years old.

“I’ve learned a lot, I hope you guys haven’t matured because I still want to remain the same immature kid that I was when I was 18,” said the artist about his career that has spanned over two-decades. “That’s what makes me happy.”

His partner, Russian tennis-star Anna Kournikova, and spending time with family also makes him happy. “All of our siblings get along extremely well and we have love and respect for each other,” he says. “We have a very good relationship.”

Despite his busy schedule, the singer always attempts to make time for his mother, Isabel Preysler, who he claims to have a close relationship with.

His fans are an extended family to him. “What I appreciate most is the love from my audience. If it wasn’t for my fans, I would not exist. I would not have the career I have,” he said. “It’s my audience that I owe absolutely everything to.”

The singer said he is now immersed in finishing his new single. “I’ll be touring soon because I want to release a new song within a month and I will travel around with that song, I’ll do a couple of gigs. I’ll be in the studio and at home in Miami writing songs. I want to take some quiet time to really focus on the next album,” he said.

For the singer, hits like, “Duele el Corazón” work like magic.

“Writing a song is something that is very difficult, there is no real way to do it. It’s not something you can control. It’s something that happens or it doesn’t,” he admitted. “I am proud of all of my songs. Each song marks a stage of my life and a stage in my career. Although they’re not true stories and are things you have just imagined, they still mark a stage you can remember perfectly why you wrote it and where you were. The feeling of writing and recording a song that fills and motivates me is wonderful.”
